CATS over at last
They are a way of torturing us.They are the continuous assesment tests. These marks add up for the internals.Especially last friday and saturday we had two exams each.Saturday we had maths and chemistry.I'm happy to report that I got full in both.
From wednesday onwards we have 5 days Diwali leave but the cheap college has made the next 2 saturdays as working days!!!
Advanced Happy Diwali to all!!!

The gr8 Mech-A Birthday Bash
But that's not the end of the story.
The cake was fully smashed on Nitish's face. But our celebration was short lived indeed.Within a few minutes 2 professors came hearing the noise that we made. They caught the bday boy and took him to the HOD with the cake still smashed on his face!!!He was innocent after all and didn't plan the party himself. The guy who organised the party tried saving him but to no avail.Another guy was seen eating cake by the sir and he was also caught. All the 3 were told that they would be suspended for 2 weeks...
Twist in the story
Apparently the guy's mom called up the principal and the today all the three were let go with a warning.HOD marched inside our class like Gabbar Singh and threatened us with dire consequences if we indulge in such activity again.
Here's the victorious celebration:

India reach T20 semis!!!
India scored 153/5 with Rohit Sharma scoring 50 off just 40 balls and Dhoni 45 off 33 balls setting the target for the South Africans.R.P.Singh took 4 wickets and bhajji and sreesanth chipping 2 wickets each to limit S.A. to just 116/9 at the end of their stipulated overs. With this they are knocked out and India have their semis against Australia.Hope they take their revenge against them. The other semis is between NZ and Pak.I'm waitin to c a India-Pak Final Encounter.

Chillin' Performance!!!
Just now in the India v/s England T20 Match Yuvraj Singh has almost stopped my heart from beating. He's created 2 world records:
1.6 sixes in an over
2.Fastest half-century(off 12 balls)
A narrow quarrel with Flintoff is what charged Yuvraj off.It seemed like I was seeing a video game where i score a six off each ball.
I am already looking forward to the next match as here India has scored 218/3 and England chasing it is like Laloo taking lessons on Spoken English!!!
Here's the video of how exactly Yuvi created the record:

Amazing T-20 Match!!!
The match went to the wire and resulted in a tie. After the flood of sixes and fours i was dissapointed to see a tie but what added spice to the match was the new feature called "Bowl Out".It is a feature similar to penalty corner where each team will get 5 chances to hit the stumps and the team doin it more will win it.
India hit the stumps in the first 3 chances itself and Pakistan couldn't come anywhere close to hitting it.
So India WON!!!Hope they carry on their superb form especially wid the splendid performance of uthappa, dhoni and pathan and go on to win the 20-20 world cup.

1st day @ collg
Well,today I had my 1st day at college.And man,it seriously rocks.
It is by far among the only few colleges in chennai which treat students as students and not as prisoners in a jail. For example,in other colleges they are very strict and dont allow cells neither are the students allowed to talk with girls(which i dont do in any case!!!).
To start off the day's proceedings ,we had an induction ceremony where we are briefed by the principal and some heads of departments. There the principal stressed on how important studies is and that our performance alone decides our future. He asked the parents to ensure that their students study 3 hrs daily.Luckily my parents weren't there or else i would be studying now instead of blogging!!!(PS:they dont know abt my blog so pls leak it to them.)
Another favourite dialogue by the maths hod was"4 yrs of hard work will result in 40 yrs of gr8 life".Well,I would ask what about the life after 40 yrs.I wanna enjoy then too!!!
After the lectures were over we were led to our classroom on the 1st floor.
A contrasting but beneficial feature of us mech students were that there were no girls in our class(so no distractions).Atleast we guys can enjoy among ourselves!!!
Our class counsellor and HOD seemed to be pretty cool and weren't strict at all. They seemed to treat us like friends!!!After some time when further instructions were given,we had our lunch at the canteen. The food's not that bad as others say.It is better compared to what food i ate in our school canteen!!!
With a heavy stomach we were then given a tour of the campus for about 1-2 hrs.
Important features include:
- A great swimming pool(though i dont know swimming)
- An ac library
- State of the art labs!!!
- Nice sight seeing experience ;-) only a highly skilled person like me can decipher its
At the end of the tour we waited and then returned by the bus.Bus ride is an experience in itself.I could sleep comfortably till the highway ended after which we all got a free camel ride!!!What a great road it was.Better than USA indeed!!!Even they don't give a free camel ride!!!Bumpy and perky...wat a gr8 combination...
Well,I'm signing off now as I have other important things to do !!!

An 'Expected' Loss
1.India lost the final one-dayer against England. They are quite good at throwing away the final matches and India kept to its age-old tradition of faltering at the last moment.
2.Emon Chatterjee-a great singer was eliminated from the Indian Idol.Even this was expected as Prashant Tamang I clearly knew would go through to the final 2 due to his huge Nepali and police supporters and fan base. The other singer to qualify is of course Amit Paul who is Kishore Kumar personified. But Emon sings far better than Prashant but the Bengalis in Kolkata wouldn't mind voting for him as they are all very 'cunjoos'...whereas the unity among te Nepalis is to be seen to be believed.

Jo jeeta wahi Sikandar!!!
A buoyant India will seek to record a rare overseas one-day series triumph as they take on an equally determined England in the decider at the Lord's in London on Saturday.
The Indians have already made the tour of England memorable by winning the Test series 1-0 after a gap of 21 years and an ODI series victory would serve as the icing on the cake.
Rahul Dravid and his men have shown tremendous resilience to bounce back from a 1-3 deficit and the hallowed turf of the Lord's provides the perfect setting for an engrossing battle between the two teams.
The sensational win in the last game at the Oval on Wednesday will be a huge morale-booster for India as the batsmen showed character to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat.
The seven-batsman strategy paid dividends for the team in the last two matches and it was the scintillating strokeplay by youngster Robin Uthappa, who came into bat at number seven, which helped India clinch the cliff-hanger at the Oval.
The visitors will probably retain the same combination for the summit showdown where the batsmen would again have to play a big role.
Dravid knows that the decider will not be a cakewalk for his players who have to show a lot of character to win their third match on the trot.
So let's see whether the Indian team are the "Men in Blue" or the "Hen in Hue".
A long wait finally ends!!!
Guess wat?!? I'm goin to college at last!!!yipeee....
It has been over 5 months since my board exams and I have remained almost jobless in my house with only a trip to my native place as an added bonus!!!
My college's gonna start this Monday...For those of you who dont know where I'm goin it is
Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering(SVCE) http://www.svce.ac.in where I have joined in the mechanical department.
God knows what's gonna happen on the 1st day.Whether or not I manage to get a date still depends on my fate!!!I'm inexperienced regarding such matters.Maybe my yet-to-be-known seniors will help me out apart from giving tips on bunking.
More on the college experience and its opening day after Monday then...

A short but interesting story!!!
Story 1...
He was 6 and was very much interested in gardening. Hence he noticed that few fruits are sweet in taste and few are sour in taste. But he didn't know how it happened, even though both trees were grown in the same environment. Then his experiments with life started. He sowed a Neem seed and after a few days when the plant started to grow he started nurturing it with sweet water and added sugar in the urea for its proper growth. He did this for a long time and expected a sweet fruit from it. But when the first one fruited, the boy tasted it and found that it was still sour. He was upset and enquired his father about the result. His father calmly said that this is the theory of cause and effect.
Lesson no 1: if you want sweet fruits you have to plant trees that yield sweet fruits. .
Story 2. .
He grows. . He is 12 now. . He was still interested in gardening. .This time he planted a mango tree, but was not committed to his work. . He didn’t nurture the trees with proper fertilizers and insecticides needed. For a long time he didn’t even water the plant. Hence after growing for a few days the plant died because of an attack inflicted by some insecticides. One fine day when Troy returned to check the fruits, he found the plant dead. He got disappointed and enquired about the failure. . His father said that this is the theory of hard work and discipline.
Lesson no 2: if you don't have discipline in your life and you don't have ability to work hard then don't expect the fruits (good results).
Story 3. .
He grows. . He is 18 now but his interest towards gardening remains the same. .This time he planted a palm tree. . He did a thorough study about the essentials for the proper growth. . But he continued with his experiments. . Knowing all the essentials he doubled the amount of fertilizers required and started watering the plant very frequently in order to get good fruits immediately. .After a few weeks the plants died. . He again got disappointed and enquired his father about the failure. .His father calmly says this is the theory of patience & perseverance.
Lesson no 3. . If you want fruits you should have perseverance, have to work hard and be patient for the results...
Story 4. .
He grows. . He was 22 now. He planted a coconut tree and nurtured it with all the above. .i.e. he followed the theory of cause and effect, he was disciplined and worked hard. He then waited for 2 years and then finally got a fine coconut tree with lots of coconuts in it. . Now he is 24. . He reported his victory to his father. .
His father calmly says, son, this is the magic formula for victory, success, happiness. .
Lesson 4: if you want to be victorious in life you need to follow all three theories. .
This brings an end to the biiiiiig story of a simple boy. .hope it was not boring and you can make some sense out it.
My 1st Blog
this is my very 1st blog and im glad to be writing it.Facts about me can be checked in my profile though i believe its not enough to describe me!!!
That's the prime reason I've taken to blogging. To give others a look at what goes on in and around me.
To make big things small,my blog is intended to preserve my memoirs for centuries(unless google gets deleted or bankrupt!!!).I'd be glad if someone offers to write an autobiography about me after seeing my blog.
I'll be writing things both past and present in my blog(I've got a big past and nothing much is happenin in my present)...
More posts later then,
ciao
